How does Petaluma’s environmental impact compare to other brands?Updated 6 days ago

We commissioned an independent life cycle assessment (LCA) for each of our baked recipes. Each one measures the land, water, energy and emissions behind the food, from growing the ingredients to baking, packing and shipping it.

Both assessments found over 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions than conventional kibble. For wider context, a 2025 study of dry dog foods found that plant-based recipes produced more than ten times lower emissions than beef-based recipes.
