We love organic agriculture and the good it does for the environment, farmworkers, and the pets who eat our food. Organic ingredients cost more, so we balance keeping our food affordable with using as much organic content as we can.

Here's how much of each recipe comes from certified organic ingredients:

• Organic Sweet Potato Jerky: 100% organic sweet potatoes, grown in North Carolina
• Whole Food Mixer: 67% organic
• Adult Roasted Peanut Butter & Sweet Potato Flavor: over 50% organic
• Baked Pumpkin & Peanut Butter for Senior Dogs: 30% organic

We keep adding organic ingredients as we grow and build closer relationships with our suppliers.

Our food isn't labeled certified organic for two reasons. It isn't made in an organic-certified facility, and we add synthetic taurine and L-carnitine, two amino acids that aren't on the National Organic Program's approved list. Research into diet and heart health (dilated cardiomyopathy, or DCM) has highlighted how important taurine can be for dogs, so we include both in our recipes. We're confident that's the right choice for your dog, even though it means we can't use the certified organic label.
